Cocucha

Michoacán, Mexico, has the most significant number of artisan processes in the country. Its crafts are noted for their beauty and quality. The burnished pottery technique features an outstanding luster and texture obtained by polishing the crafts with a quartz stone. This pot is known in Mexico as "cocucha". It was molded and burnished entirely by hand, featuring excellent resistance and durability. The red tone was obtained using special paint made of ground corn, a typical art technique of the region.
